Welcome back to my blog! I took some much-needed time off to go to the beach, hike and relax, but now I am back and better than ever! Since I am only posting one time this week I wanted to make this Friday’s post special, so that is why I will be posting 3 different posts today. All posts will go up an hour after each other. This is a one time occurrence, but if my readers liked this and would like me to do this every so often make sure to like this post so I know 🙂 Post 1- Life hacks for the hot weather (you are reading it now) will go up at 8 a.m today, Post 2- BBQ bonanza BBQ ideas will go up at 9 a.m , Post 3 Crazy burger recipes will go up at 10 a.m. Now onto the post 🙂
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, I know I am 🙂 I was on vacation last week and then in 2 weeks I am leaving again! Where we are going is going to be super hot and even at home it is going to be hot, that is why I wanted to share “life hacks for the hot weather”. Hot weather & humid weather can become annoying and irritating after a while, at least in my case this is true. When the house is humid, outside is humid and even the car is humid it might seem that there is no place for you to feel comfortable! That is why today’s post is going to help everyone on those hot and humid summer days 🙂
Here are some video links
1) Make Aloe Ice Cubes
Chances are you will be plagued with sun-burn this summer, so why not be prepared!Pick up a bottle of aloe vera gel and fill an ice-cube tray. Remove them as needed to cool off while mending your beet-red skin.
2) Freeze a sponge.
Soak a fresh sponge in water, toss it in a Ziplock bag, and leave it in the freezer. When the hot air strikes and it becomes unbearable, take the sponge out of the freezer and place on your neck or head, relief will happen 🙂
3) Put dryer sheets EVERYWHERE.
Face it, it’s almost guaranteed that at least one time during the summer you will reek! Why not be prepared with dryer sheets. Place in your shoes, rooms, clothes drawers, anywhere you think needs it.

4) Save Your Split Flip-Flops
Just like that.
5) Ice Your Coffee
Not with water, though. Next time you make coffer pour the extra coffee into an ice-cube tray, freeze, simple and brilliant. Now when you want to ice your coffee pop a cube into your drink and it will not become watered down by regular ice full of water! These cubes are filled with coffee, so when they melt, they melt coffee 🙂

6) Chill Your Bottles — Fast
In need of a fast way to chill your warm beer, or soda , soak a few paper towels, wrap the around the bottle, and stick it in the nearest freezer. Cold drinks in minutes.

7) Turn your fan into an ice fan
For those days when your fan is not cooling you down, place a frozen gallon water jug in front of it and bask in the cold crisp air

8) Choose clothes in natural fabrics
Avoid synthetics at all costs, including polyester and rayon. Due to the water-repellent fibres, this allows sweat to build up, causing irritation and discomfort. Fabrics such as cotton are much more breathable, which means that sweat is absorbed quicker and dries faster.
9) Eat less meat
Consuming large amounts of protein, found in red meat and some fish, will increase the body’s metabolic heat as it attempts to break down the heavy food. Instead, opt for smaller meals, eating every two to three hours, which will limit the heat produced in the body.
10) Don’t overdo the antiperspirants
When the heat is turned up, it can be an obvious reaction to reach for a can of antiperspirants, but excessive use can handicap the body’s natural heat-loss mechanism.
11) Use feather pillows
Ditch any synthetic pillows and bedding, as materials such as polyester retains heat.Opt instead for down-filled and cotton alternatives for a sweat-free and comfortable night’s sleep.
12) Downsize accessories
In hot weather, try to opt for as little jewellery as possible. Chains can stick to the skin, heavy necklaces can make fabric cling to your chest area, trapping heat, and bracelets cover wrists which are a pulse point – and cooling area – on the body.
13) Cover up
Although this may seem like it will give the opposite of the intended effect, covering up areas that are exposed to the sun will in fact keep you cooler. Direct sunlight will not only raise your body temperature but leave you vulnerable to dreaded burn.
