Hi everyone! I am back to blogging and I want to thank you all for your patience while I took some time off.
Summer is here and most would think that this is the easiest time of the year to workout, but in reality it’s the opposite. Everyone is on vacation, at the beach, being tourists in another country or just relaxing at home. So you’re motivation to workout/ time you’re available can begin to suffer.
Most times when people are vacationing they indulge in the foods around them which is one of the best parts of the trip. But you don’t want to be feeling sluggish and puffy on the beach, or on your vacation! Which is why I came up with these hacks to help you stay fit and feeling fine during the summer. You don’t need a fancy gym or 100 dollar dumbbells. All you need is the great outdoors and some motivation and you are good to go.
Go for a morning jog before it’s too hot. Or if you’re not a morning person then an evening run may suit you better.
Hop in the pool
Swimming is a great aerobic exercise that is both calorie burning and will keep you cool.
Nothing is better then renting a canoe with your friends and spending the day on the water. It’s a great way to exercise and give yourself a nice tan.
Gather a few friends and throw the ball back and forth. You’ll work up quite a sweat and will keep your legs and arms working.
Seeing as this is my favorite sport I will choose this workout above the others.
Similar to tennis this game can be played with up to 3 people on each side so it is definitely a game that is perfect for summer picnics or to integrate into your workout.
Walk before you drive
If you’re planning a trip to the city or a park then park your car in the lot and walk around instead of driving from store to store.
Hit the gym early
Have no time during vacation or the summer to workout? Then hit the gym early in the morning so that your workout is done, then you can enjoy family fun time.
Sign up for a new activity
For some people simply having the motivation to workout is just not there. So instead of beating yourself up about it sign up for a fun and new activity. This way you won’t want to waste your money so you’ll have to go. And who knows, maybe you’ll find a new activity that you enjoy 🙂 .
See nature in all its beauty this summer by taking a hike to a mountain near you.
Clean the house
Grab your mop, broom, cloths, and start cleaning. Tidying up the house on a hot summer day is sure to work up a sweat and get those calories burning.
Cleaning the windows = great arm workout. Even throw some squats in there to work those legs.
Sweeping the stairs = working out your legs and butt.
Vacuuming the spiders from your ceiling = working the back and arm muscles.
Buy cute workout clothes
Sorry but I had to throw this in here. 😁 At least this is true for me, but having cute workout gear makes going to the gym seem a lot better. I feel cute while lifting my weights and it gives me motivation to go, because I want to show off my cute clothes.
My favorite brands: Alo yoga, Fabletics, Lululemon, buff bunny, gym shark, doyoueven. If you are looking for affordable workout gear that is very nice quality, “So” by kohl’s makes awesome gear.
